Giant Vietnamese forest scorpion (Heterometrus laoticus) taxidermy pinning workshop

In this workshop, students will learn about the insect preservation process, scorpion anatomy, pose their very own specimen, and take it home on an EVA foam pinning board to dry. Class participants can choose to pose their scorpions flat for framing or dimensional “walking” pose for art pieces (or even just for fun). Additional entomology supplies and framing options available for purchase in-store after class, including insect specimens to practice with at home. 

Previous students are welcome to bring their own tools (pointed tweezers, pins, pinning board) to get a $20 fee reimbursement OR $20 voucher for entomology supplies/specimens after class. 

*Scorpions have been cleaned, meaning students will NOT be dissecting the abdomen.
