Learn how to preserve one of the largest flower beetles in the world! The class will learn about the insect taxidermy process, pick out their very own beetle, pose it with pins, and take it home on a foam pinning board to dry. Once spread, these gigantic beetles can have wingspans between 5 and 6 inches! If interested in further practicing at home, additional insect taxidermy supplies and insect specimens will be available for purchase in-store after class. 

Previous students are welcome to bring their own tools (pointed tweezers, pins, pinning board) to get a $20 fee reimbursement OR $20 voucher for entomology supplies/specimens after class.
